It is also known as Red Rat snake.This snake ranges from new gercy to west Florida along the Atlantic sea board ,west Mississippi river .These snakes are active on both day and night depend on temperature of weather.These are 8 to 14 inches in length while adults snakes are 30 to 48 inches .the record was 72 inches.Their basic pattern was 25 to 38 black blotches with many lateral blotches .They live on pine wood hamcocks which are above the swamps in florida to Rocky Ridges .They eat Rats Mice and chickens.They do not need the UV light.
